iOS & macOS Email Setup
Configure your email on iPhone, iPad, and Mac with automatic setup
Personalize This Guide
Enter your email address to customize this guide with your specific settings. This is optional, but it will make following along much easier!
What will be personalized:
- [email protected] → your actual email
- mail.yourdomain.com → mail.yourdomain.com
- yourname → your username
Your email is only stored locally in your browser and is never sent to our servers
This guide will help you set up your DigiGrow email account on your iPhone, iPad, or Mac. We use a special configuration profile that automatically sets up your email, contacts, and calendar all at once - no complicated manual settings needed!
What You'll Need
- Your DigiGrow email address (like )
- Your email password (provided by DigiGrow)
- About 10 minutes of your time
- An internet connection
What gets set up automatically:
- Your email account (sending and receiving)
- Your contacts/address book
- Your calendar
- All the technical settings (no manual configuration required)
Step 1: Access Your Email Dashboard
First, you need to download your personalized setup file from your email dashboard.
On your iPhone/iPad or Mac:
- 1Open your web browser (Safari, Chrome, etc.)
- 2
Go to:
- Replace "yourdomain.com" with your actual domain name
- Example: If your email is [email protected], go to mail.mybusiness.co.uk
- 3
Log in using:
- Email: Your full DigiGrow email address
- Password: The password DigiGrow provided you
Step 2: Download Your Configuration Profile
Once you're logged into your email dashboard:
- 1Look for the "User" section or navigate to the user area
- 2Find the button that says: "Email, calendars and contacts [IMAP, SMTP, Cal/CardDAV]"
- 3Click this button to download your configuration profile
Important: The file that downloads is called "mailcow.mobileconfig" - this is your personalized setup file that contains all your email settings.
Step 3A: Install on iPhone or iPad
After downloading the profile on your iPhone or iPad:
Install the Profile (iOS 12 and later)
- 1Open the Settings app on your device
- 2Look for "Profile Downloaded" or "Enroll in [organization name]" near the top of the Settings menu
- 3Tap on it to begin installation
Complete the Installation
- 1Tap "Install" in the top-right corner
- 2You'll see a security warning saying the profile is "not signed" - this is normal and safe
- 3Tap "Install" again to confirm
- 4Enter your device passcode if prompted
- 5Enter your email password when asked
- 6Tap "Install" one final time
- 7Tap "Done" when installation is complete
Important timing: You have 8 minutes from download to complete installation, or the profile will be automatically deleted for security.
What Happens After Installation?
Once installed successfully:
- Mail app opens automatically with your account ready to use
- Your contacts will start syncing with the Contacts app
- Your calendar will start syncing with the Calendar app
- You can immediately send and receive emails
- Everything works together - new contacts and calendar events sync automatically
Security Warning - Why You See "Unsigned Profile"
Don't worry! The security warning about an "unsigned profile" is completely normal and expected. Here's why:
- •Apple requires expensive certificates to "sign" profiles, which most email providers don't purchase
- •Your profile is safe - it only contains your email settings, nothing harmful
- •DigiGrow created this profile specifically for your email account
- •Thousands of businesses use unsigned profiles daily without issues
It's completely safe to proceed with installation.
Troubleshooting
"Profile Downloaded" Doesn't Appear (iOS)
- Wait 30 seconds then check Settings again
- Download the profile again from your email dashboard
- Make sure you downloaded it on the same device you're trying to install it on
Profile Disappeared (iOS)
- Profiles auto-delete after 8 minutes for security
- Simply download it again from your email dashboard and install faster
Installation Fails
- Check your internet connection - both download and installation need internet
- Make sure you're entering the correct email password
- Try downloading the profile again from your email dashboard
Email Not Working After Installation
- Check your internet connection
- Wait a few minutes for initial sync to complete
- Try sending a test email to yourself
Manual Setup Alternative
If you prefer to set up your email manually using a different app, you can use these settings:
Server Settings
- Incoming Mail Server (IMAP):
- Outgoing Mail Server (SMTP):
Replace "yourdomain.com" with your actual domain name.
Port Settings & Security
- IMAP: Port 993 with SSL encryption
- SMTP: Port 465 with SSL encryption
Your Login Details
- Username: Your full email address
- Password: The password provided by DigiGrow
- Authentication Method: Use "Normal Password" or "Plain" authentication
Contacts and Calendar Settings (Optional)
If your email app supports CalDAV (calendar) and CardDAV (contacts), you can also sync these:
- CardDAV URL (Contacts): https:///SOGo/dav//Contacts/personal/
- CalDAV URL (Calendar): https:///SOGo/dav//Calendar/personal/
Replace both "yourdomain.com" and "[email protected]" with your actual details.
Alternative: Some apps may only require the base URL: https:///SOGo/dav/
Important Security Notice
DigiGrow email requires secure SSL connections. We only support SSL encryption on the ports specified above. STARTTLS and non-secure connections are blocked for your security.
Note: We do not support POP3 email access - please use IMAP for the best experience with multiple devices. Manual setup requires configuring email, contacts, and calendar separately in different apps. The configuration profile method above automatically sets up everything at once and is much easier.
